Helping People Heal From Alcohol & Other Drug Dependencies

History

In 1982, NOVA opened its doors as the first residential treatment center in Wisconsin. It was a milestone because prior to that time, services like ours were produced in hospital settings at a much greater cost.

Nova exists to provide the highest quality care at the lowest possible cost to chemically dependent persons and their families.

Delivering high quality care, at a fraction of the cost of other programs, became the basis of our service which produced, in turn, the following mission statement:

"Nova exists to provide the highest quality care at the lowest possible cost to chemically dependent persons and their families."

With this credo, other programs have come and gone, but Nova has continued to prosper and grow. In September, 2004 Nova moved into a brand new facility.

Located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin Nova is centrally positioned between Milwaukee and Green Bay with easy access from a major highway. Nova has become a regional center attracting clients from the Chicago area as well as the Upper Midwest.

For over two decades, the NOVA staff and programs have been grounded in the belief that the linking the chemically dependent to the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous is the surest way to help people recover from the disease of chemical dependency. We believe that education about the illness, knowledge of the 12 Steps, and caring feedback are the cornerstones for change. This process of education, individual and group therapy, experienced in a therapeutic community, is the right combination of information and technique designed to dismantle denial and effect change in attitudes and behaviors.
